The weekend courses will run on August 9–10 and 16–17 at Post Houston
Art Club in Houston has announced a new collaboration with dadageek, the Austin-based nonprofit known for its focus on education and community-building at the intersection of art and technology. Together, they are bringing two in-person weekend courses to Houston this August, aiming to support digital artists, designers, and creative technologists looking to expand their practice.
Hosted at Post Houston and led by dadageek’s Managing Director Kyle Evans, also a Professor of Immersive Media at the University of Texas, these courses will offer intensive, hands-on learning environments. The first course, “TouchDesigner Boot Camp”, will take place on 9–10 August and offers a practical introduction to real-time visual creation. Participants will explore the software’s use in live music visuals, interactive installations, and audio-reactive art.
The second, “Immersive Audio with Ableton Live”, follows on 16–17 August and will guide attendees through spatial audio design and multi-channel sound composition using Ableton Live.
As part of the initiative, both courses will culminate in a public showcase at Art Club on 7 September, providing participants with the opportunity to exhibit their work in one of Houston’s most forward-thinking cultural spaces.
