ART SG 2026 integrates sound practice with works by Tati au Miel and Rosemainy Buang, among others
As ART SG 2026 approaches, the fair is set to return to Singapore with a programme that extends beyond conventional gallery presentations, incorporating sound, performance and time-based media across its official and parallel events. The fair will take place 22-26 January at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, coinciding with a wider concentration of exhibitions and cultural activity across the city.
Sound-led practice appears most directly within the Wan Hai Hotel: Singapore Strait programme, staged at The Warehouse Hotel. Running alongside the main fair, the site-responsive project includes several sound-focused works across the week, including a live sound performance by Tati au Miel on 22 January, followed by sound mapping presentations on 23 and 24 January. The programme also features Rosemainy Buang, presenting "Otak-Atik" Gamelan & Electronic Sound on 23 and 24 January, bringing electronic composition and regional sonic traditions into a contemporary visual-art context.
Further intersections between sound and image unfold across ART SG 2026’s wider programme framework, which spans PLATFORM, FILM, TALKS, S.E.A. Focus and South Asia Insights, alongside Wan Hai Hotel: Singapore Strait. Together, these strands allow visitors to encounter sound-led and audiovisual practices in multiple formats, from screenings and performances to discursive sessions and regionally focused presentations. Rather than being confined to a single section, the relationship between sonic practice and visual art emerges across the fair’s different programmes, reflecting a broad curatorial approach in which sound, moving image and spatial experience are embedded throughout the week.
Visitors can secure tickets ahead of ART SG 2026, which begins on 22 January with a VIP preview & vernissage, before opening to the public between 23 and 25 January.
