Brutalist Pink, the trilogy of sculptural sound objects, features a DJ booth, a vinyl listening station, and a pair of speakers available made-to-order through Yont Studio

Berlin-based Yont Studio, run by architect friends Serdar Ayvaz and Cosan Karadeniz, has been exploring the intersection of design, sound and sculpture through Brutalist Pink, an evolving trilogy of sculptural sound objects that boldly fuse the raw monumentality of brutalism with the playful irreverence of pop art.

Launched last year as a series of experimental studies, the project reimagines functional audio equipment, a DJ booth, a vinyl listening station and speakers, as massive, candy-pink monoliths. These pieces challenge conventional interactions with music while delivering a striking visual punch.

The series began with Brutalist Pink 01, a sculptural DJ booth. Ayvaz, working under his studio Serdarwerk, described it as an “altar-like form” infused with industrial rhythm, evoking a techno liturgy through its imposing presence. The piece sets the tone for the trilogy: heavy, geometric volumes carved with deliberate asymmetry, coated in a glossy bubblegum pink that softens brutalism’s typical austerity.

This was followed by Brutalist Pink 02, a vinyl listening station designed for intimate, deliberate engagement with records. It features a carved pink foam block, hardened with epoxy for durability, that cradles a turntable in a domestic-scale cube.

The third element, a pair of speakers, completes the trilogy, transforming sound reproduction into sculptural events.

The designs in this series are handmade in Berlin and available on request, with custom options for size and colour.
