Kimberley Ross captured the surreal festival setting as Björk wore a balloon-like look from Robert Wun’s FW26 Couture collection
Björk hosted a one-day rave in Iceland this week, bringing together electronic music, experimental performance and a rare total solar eclipse for Echolalia in Víðistaðatún, Hafnarfjörður.
Held on Wednesday 12 August, the event featured a DJ set from Björk alongside performances from fellow electronic luminary Arca, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and 33EMYBW, as well as Icelandic acts Sideproject and Ronja Jóhannsdóttir. The programme also marked the 40th anniversary of Smekkleysa, the influential Icelandic record label and record shop that has played a significant role in the country's experimental music scene.
The event coincided with a rare total solar eclipse passing overhead, providing an appropriately otherworldly backdrop to the festival. Björk took to the decks dressed in a balloon-like look from Robert Wun’s FW26 Couture collection, adding another striking visual element to the occasion.
