A public ticket draw will offer 100 pairs of tickets per day on a first come first served basis
The Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM) in Frankfurt has announced a two-day electronic music programme at Frankfurt Airport to mark the opening of Terminal 3 in April.
Scheduled for 11–12 April, the event will transform part of the new terminal into a temporary MOMEM Club Area, staging a daylight series of performances that bring together figures from Frankfurt’s electronic music community while reflecting on the city’s club history.
The programme forms the latest collaboration between the Museum of Modern Electronic Music and Fraport, the operator of Frankfurt Airport. The two institutions previously worked together on the 2024 event series 100 Years of Frankfurt Airport, which took place on the visitor terrace of Terminal 2. The forthcoming event also follows the museum’s public opening in 2022, when more than 10,000 people gathered at Frankfurt’s Hauptwache square.
For the Terminal 3 opening, the organisers have framed the event under the theme “Ready for Take-Off”, positioning the programme as a sonic counterpart to the airport’s expansion and its symbolic role in international mobility. A club floor will be constructed within the terminal complex, situating electronic music between the architectural landscape of the airport, runway views and departure boards.
The concept also revisits an important chapter of Frankfurt’s nightlife history. During the 1980s and 1990s, the legendary Dorian Gray nightclub operated inside the airport complex and became one of Europe’s most influential dance music venues. By hosting contemporary artists within the new terminal, the organisers aim to connect that legacy with the current generation of Frankfurt-based DJs and producers.
The two-day programme has been divided into thematic sections. On Saturday, the City Vibes session will feature Mr. Rod, Tom Marvin, Lex Juno, Delicat, Perla Nera and Joe Jam, presenting a selection of house and techno performances led by artists closely associated with the local scene and MOMEM’s resident community.
Sunday’s Airport Legacy programme will shift the focus toward artists whose work has shaped the city’s electronic music trajectory across decades. The line-up includes Bjoern Mulik, Chasing Kurt, Doro T.A., Raphael Krickow, Tom Wax and Talla 2XLC, offering what the organisers describe as a musical journey through the past and present of Frankfurt’s club culture.
To accompany the opening, organisers have also launched a public ticket draw, offering 100 pairs of tickets for each day. Entries can be submitted via email at contact@momem.org, with access allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and confirmed attendees receiving designated entry slots.
