The complete three-part documentary exploring the project is available on YouTube
Eric Prydz’s launch of a three-part Holosphere 2.0 docuseries was one of the standout moments of the 2025 season, offering rare insight into the ambition, engineering and creative labour behind the project.
Six years in the making, Holosphere 2.0 marks a new chapter in Prydz’s long-running exploration of immersive audiovisual performance. The production has been running weekly since the beginning of the month at Ibiza’s newest superclub, [UNVRS], where Prydz holds a seasonal residency. Clips from the opening night reveal the sheer scale of the operation, positioning the show as a landmark moment for club culture on the island.
Released across three short documentary episodes, the series traces the journey of Holosphere 2.0 from its earliest conceptual stages through to its realisation as a live experience. Now available to watch on YouTube, the episodes provide rare access to the technical, creative and logistical processes behind the project. The series also includes perspectives from the production team behind the Sphere and the residency, offering insight into the engineering, animation and execution that made Holosphere 2.0 a reality.
Eric Prydz presented Holosphere 2.0 every Monday at [UNVRS] from 2 June through 1 September this season, reinforcing the venue’s ambition to position itself at the forefront of large-scale audiovisual performance.
Reflecting on the scope of the project, the artist said: “This show, the technology and the size of it has never been done before, ever. This is what we always dreamed of.”
