The 2027 release will explore Daft Punk through comics, archival material and writing on science fiction, technology and electronic music

A new comic anthology inspired by Daft Punk is set to be released in 2027, bringing together original stories, archival material and essays centred on the French electronic duo’s wider cultural influence.

Published by French science-fiction magazine Métal Hurlant, the 272-page edition will feature 26 comics and six articles created by more than 30 contributors. The collection will explore themes including science fiction, technology and electronic music through work inspired by Daft Punk’s visual and musical world.

Contributors include Laura Pérez, Malachi Ward, Jonathan Djob Nkondo and Zep, alongside material from French artists Mœbius and Philippe Druillet.

The anthology is currently available to pre-order through Humanoids. Customers who order in advance will receive an exclusive cover created by Cedric Hervet, Daft Punk’s long-time creative director, and Warren Fu, who worked on several videos connected to the duo’s ‘Random Access Memories’ era.

A further 80 VIP places are also being offered, giving fans the opportunity to have their faces illustrated by Florian Breuil and included in a section titled ‘Concert That Never Happened’. Participants’ names will also appear in a double-page spread within the anthology.

An Instagram post announcing the release also detailed additional editions and subscriber offers, including a four-poster campaign and hardcover versions. Further editions are expected to be released separately in the US and France.
