The one-day project on 20 June will transform Hall 1.1 into an immersive environment shaped by sound, movement and collective memory

Thomas Bangalter, Julian Charrière and Rampa are set to present 'Warehouse Artefacts', an immersive installation that will transform part of Art Basel into a deconstructed dancefloor exploring the intersections of political history and underground music culture.

Taking place on 20 June 2026 as part of Art Basel, the project will be presented by Art Klub Basel in Hall 1.1, where visitors will be able to experience the installation throughout the day. Open to all Art Basel ticket holders between 11am and 5pm, 'Warehouse Artefacts' brings together artistic, sonic and spatial elements in a format that blurs the boundaries between exhibition-making and club culture.

Developed by Thomas Bangalter, best known as one half of Daft Punk, artist Julian Charrière and Rampa of Keinemusik, the project examines the transmission of collective memory through sound, architecture and movement.

The installation will evolve into a live evening programme between 6pm and 11pm, when the exhibition environment will be activated as a rave featuring a DJ set by Rampa alongside a special guest. The transition from daytime installation to nighttime gathering reflects the project's broader interest in the social and cultural histories embedded within dancefloor spaces.

'Warehouse Artefacts' is produced by Nordstern Basel and presented in cooperation with Art Basel and Fondation Beyeler.

Ahead of the debut of 'Warehouse Artefacts' at Art Basel 2026, Rampa, Thomas Bangalter and Julian Charrière joined NOWNESS’ Inner Worlds for a discussion on rhythm, creative exchange and underground cultural histories. Watch the video here.
