The Amsterdam event also marks the debut of Groove Atelier’s ‘The Art of Sound’ series

Dutch harpist and composer Remy van Kesteren will make his debut at The Other Side in Amsterdam on Saturday 14 November, presenting an audiovisual performance that takes the harp beyond its traditional setting through electronics, rhythm and unconventional approaches to the instrument.

The performance forms part of ‘The Art of Sound’, a 12-hour programme presented by Groove Atelier as part of the venue’s immersive live concert series FULL CYCLE, bringing together live performances, listening sessions, artist talks and meditation. The event also marks the debut of Groove Atelier’s ‘The Art of Sound’ series.

Alongside Remy van Kesteren, the evening programme will also feature an experimental collaboration between Amsterdam-based kemenche player and composer Emine Bostanci and performer and composer Saba Alizadeh.

Rotterdam-based composer and vocalist Cosmic Bride will present a special performance marking the release of her new EP ‘Hidden Gem’, in which voice, harp and spatial electronics move through the room like celestial bodies in orbit. Frankfurt-based artist DELICAT will close the night with a vinyl DJ set.

Earlier in the day, from 13:00 to 17:00, Cosmic Bride will host a series of listening sessions, talks and artist-led presentations. Binkbeats will present ‘OHM’, an immersive listening session followed by a Q&A, while Chagall will lead ‘Meeting the Goddess’, a show-and-tell exploring her creative practice. PORTRAIT XO will present ‘The Cost of Connection’, a process talk exploring her creative practice. The afternoon programme will open with a meditation session led by Nino Basilashvili.

All performances throughout the programme will be presented in spatial audio, making use of The Other Side’s immersive sound system.
