The new edition will feature the largest light and sound installations to date, electronic live acts, performances, cinema and art talks
LOST ART FESTIVAL is set to make its return at Berlin’s LUXWERK from 12–14 September, opening a 100-year-old former lightbulb factory to the public in its raw state for the last time.
Spanning 19,000 square metres, three times larger than the festival’s last edition in 2021, the new edition will unfold across 14 halls with the largest light and sound installations to date, electronic live acts, performances, cinema and art talks.
The site choice is central to the experience. LUXWERK is the historic OSRAM complex where Europe’s first fully automated glass factory was built in 1927/28; nearly a century on, the machines have fallen silent and the venue is poised for redevelopment. Before that transformation begins, the festival invites visitors to encounter the building’s unadulterated architecture one final time.
Organisers emphasise the city context, noting that abandoned places in Berlin are disappearing, and frame this edition as a rare chance to walk a “vast body of concrete and time” that feels silent, heavy and full of stories. Between the monumental works, another world appears: hidden bars with whispering voices and refined pop-up restaurants led by Berlin-based chefs, creating a culinary journey that winds through the space for a full day of art, music and gastronomy.
