Running from 1 to 17 August, The Quiet Space opens a moment of calm within Berlin’s hectic cultural calendar

A new exhibition, The Quiet Space, is launching at Kraftwerk Berlin next month. Presented by the Tresor Foundation, the project will run from 1 to 17 August 2025, inviting the public to experience the vast industrial hall as a vacant space, free from its typical installations and staging.

With free entry and no programmed events, The Quiet Space transforms the vast former power station into a rare setting for stillness. Visitors are encouraged to walk, sit, stretch, or simply breathe, as natural light filters through the building’s high windows and the cool air mingles with the stark rhythm of concrete columns. There are no performances or exhibitions to observe—only the quiet interplay between architecture and atmosphere.

In a city where cultural programming rarely pauses, the project offers a temporary retreat from Berlin’s fast-paced summer season. Described as a space for reflection and reset, the initiative invites the public to engage with Kraftwerk not as a spectacle, but as a site for presence and attention.

The Quiet Space opens to the public on Friday 1 August at 15:00. Visiting hours continue Tuesday to Sunday, from 15:00 to 20:00, with the venue closed on Mondays. Admission is free throughout the duration of the exhibition.
